Guiding Questions:

What are your initial thoughts about the concept of Literacy with ICT (LwICT)? My initial thoughts are that LwICT will make technology as a tool much more attainable for teachers across the Senior Years.

What implementation barriers for LwICT do you foresee at Senior Years? The main barrier would be awareness and feeling comfortable with the continuum. Also, you need a someone in the building to champion the implementation. Software/hardware/peripherals are not an issue for some divisions...but may be a huge issue for others.

What opportunities does LwICT present for Senior Years? I see more opportunities for cross-curricular and multi-disciplinary activities. Also the digital natives will feel like they are more in their own habitat! :-)

What professional learning is required initially to prepare Senior Years teachers to begin to use the LwICT continuum? Have SY teachers re-construct the continuum as a way to understand it (as opposed to just handing out the literature). Promote the continuum as a way to differentiate instruction and to let your students shine. Emphasize that teachers are not expected to be the technology expert, but instead the facilitator.

What types of ICT do you currently have in your Senior Years classroom? I have 25 computers, printer, projector, graphics tablets, web cams, scanner, digital cameras, video cameras, Vision software, variety of software...

What types of ICT are available to you in your school, but not in your classroom? Smart Boards, Sentios, Video Conferencing equipment

What subjects and grades do you teach and how do you currently use ICT to enhance student learning? I teach Business Education and ICT courses. I teach in a lab environment. In the coming months, I hope to pull all of these technology and web based tools together in conjunction with the Stages of Inquiry to have a fully infused approach!
